Nuclear and Radiological Risk Summit.
23-24 April 2025 - Cambridge, UK
Cambridge Nuclear Energy Centre (CNEC) was pleased to host the first Nuclear and Radiological Risk Summit at the University of Cambridge.
This event brought together a distinguished group of experts from academia, industry, and government to engage in thoughtful dialogue on the management of radiological risk within the UK nuclear sector. Threaded throughout our discussions was the theme of proportionality: how it is understood, implemented, and perhaps, at times, neglected in practice.
We were delighted to welcome a diverse, knowledgeable, and engaging group of participants, and extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed to these two days of constructive and stimulating discussion.
This initiative was organised by Nathaniel Read, Sannah H.P van Balen, Eugene Shwageraus at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, and generously supported by the UKRI IAA Impact Starter Fund.
Thank you to Claire Armstrong for administrative support, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge for a delightful dinner, and The Pitt Building for offering an elegant setting for our working meetings.
